Students! Start with these RESOURCES!

WIKIPEDIA

Looking for a topic for your research paper? Do you need to make your topic more specific? Wikipedia is a wonderful place to start. It offers historical information on numerous topics and provides resources, ideas, key words, and other information that will be helpful to you. Always have 3 resources that provide the identical information. Don't take just one person's information!

Try the NEW and IMPROVED search site! No login in Kansas needed!

http://skyways.lib.ks.us/kansas/KSL/

KanED - http://login.learningstation.com/kportal/

    Primary Students -

Middle Grade Students - Use the World Book Encyclopedia - you will find maps and a dictionary, and a thesarus! Also there is information about each of the United States with a special section on Kansas.

High School Students - If you are unsure, ask your librarian! :>)

Check the Library!

Oh my goodness! Just think the Library ( you know--that big room with lots of books and magazines!) might have something really great on the topic you are looking for. The librarian is there to help you! Ask for information! It is just that EASY!

Okay - now you can Google it!

Be specific. Don't put in more than 3 or 4 terms. Use NOUNS: a person, a place, a thing. Put a specific title or name or words that must be together in quotation marks "Thomas Jefferson."
